A white, bright smile can help create a youthful appearance. We offer a number of different whitening options, depending upon your needs. We invite you to consult with us to determine which option is best for you. Our dentist may need to perform an exam to determine if your teeth are healthy enough for whitening.
If you are a candidate for whitening, we may suggest a procedure called chair side or in-office whitening, and it may be completed in as little as one visit. During an in-office whitening procedure, we will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield to protect your oral soft tissues. A whitening agent is then applied to your teeth, and a special light may be used to enhance the action of the agent.
Custom take-home whitening products typically come in a gel which is dispensed into a tray or mouth guard. These trays are made by your dentist to fit your teeth precisely. Usage may vary depending on the product. Some products are used twice a day for approximately 2 weeks, while others are intended for overnight use for 1-2 weeks.
We offer a professional alternative to common over-the-counter whitening options. It’s a simple and fast whitening treatment that can also be used for whitening touch-ups. It uses prefilled, disposable trays that don’t require impressions or custom trays.
I have been going to Progressive Dental since about 2014, give or take a year. After a childhood of improper dental care I was terrified of sitting in the chair. When I first met Dr. Chaitra Rao-Aithal I knew I found our dentist. She guided me through a treatment plan, recommended where I could get my wisdom teeth removed, and has always had great compassion for my dental anxiety. Her dental hygienists displayed the same care and patience for me. Yes, even through my crying and the need to take breaks. In 2022, it was time for my son to start going as well. While he didn’t share the same anxiety as myself, he was a little apprehensive. No problem, because everyone in the office (from front staff to the dentist) made him feel safe. Finally, in 2022 I decided it was time to take the leap and replace a front tooth crown I had since 2003. Don’t even get me started on how terrified I was since that procedure is what began my fear of the dentist. During the summer of 2022 I worked out a plan with the staff. Custom whitening trays, impressions, and a new front crown all before I went back to work for public speaking. Going in for the final step of my new crown, I was excited for the first time in almost 20 years. When I held the mirror to see my new, white, healthy smile (with my son watching me from across the room) I cried the happiest of tears. I couldn’t remember ever loving my smile and here I was, at 30 years old, loving every glance. If you read this whole review, you might be like me: searching for an office that is trauma informed, patient, good with kids, and consistent. Give them a call.
