Wisdom tooth removal is sometimes required due to the impacted teeth causing you pain, swelling, or a bad taste in your mouth.
In these cases, we offer comfortable wisdom tooth extraction for teenagers and adults. If you or a family member is experiencing symptoms related to painful or impacted wisdom teeth, we can guide you through the extraction process and your sedation options.
From the surgical procedure to recovery, we provide support at every stage. We offer in-house dental sedation for all oral surgeries. With sedation, you’ll experience a more relaxed state and may not remember much, if anything, about the actual treatment.
Most patients experience minor soreness for a few days after wisdom teeth removal. We recommend following all medication instructions and taking a few days off work or school. Applying a cold compress to each side of your mouth for up to 20 minutes at a time within the first 24 hours can help with inflammation. You can also rinse with warm salt water to reduce swelling or facilitate food removal. While it’s okay to brush your teeth, avoid brushing around the extraction sites during the first week.
Since most wisdom tooth extractions involve sedation, you will need to bring a friend or family member to drive you home after the appointment.

Love this office! Everyone here is fantastic, from the front desk staff booking and confirming appointments (and staying in contact when cancellations happen) to the hygienists, specifically Amanda and Janina, being so friendly and informative. And the Doctor makes being at the dentist for procedural things (wisdom teeth removal, fillings, check ups, etc.) super light and comfortable. I found this office when we moved to Algonquin and have recommended the practice to anyone who has asked for a rec. So consider this a forever recommendation - come here. They’re the best!

When I first met Dr. Chaitra Rao-Aithal I knew I found our dentist. She guided me through a treatment plan, recommended where I could get my wisdom teeth removed, and has always had great compassion for my dental anxiety. Her dental hygienists displayed the same care and patience for me. Yes, even through my crying and the need to take breaks. In 2022, it was time for my son to start going as well. While he didn’t share the same anxiety as myself, he was a little apprehensive. No problem, because everyone in the office (from front staff to the dentist) made him feel safe. Finally, in 2022 I decided it was time to take the leap and replace a front tooth crown I had since 2003. Don’t even get me started on how terrified I was since that procedure is what began my fear of the dentist. During the summer of 2022 I worked out a plan with the staff. Custom whitening trays, impressions, and a new front crown all before I went back to work for public speaking. Going in for the final step of my new crown, I was excited for the first time in almost 20 years. When I held the mirror to see my new, white, healthy smile (with my son watching me from across the room) I cried the happiest of tears. I couldn’t remember ever loving my smile and here I was, at 30 years old, loving every glance. If you read this whole review, you might be like me: searching for an office that is trauma informed, patient, good with kids, and consistent. Give them a call.

I recently had some work done with fillings, bonding, and a single wisdom tooth extraction. The experience I had with all of these procedures was amazing and I can’t thank everyone at the office enough! No issues, no concerns, and everything turned out great. From the procedure, to the after care discussion and take home forms (along with a follow up as well), I really felt taken care of. I don’t think I would have gotten through this at any other office. My wife and I love going here!
